Today I am proud to feature another guest blog post from Joe Butler. Joe is a Great guy and extremely busy however, managed to fit me in! Wow do I feel special! Visit Joes Blog everyone, he has some great stuff on there! Take It away Joe … …
Some time ago one of my mentors told me that people fail from trying too many things as opposed to doing too few things. Being a good student, I asked a question. How can that be? Explain it to me. He said that broken focus can become the death of your success.
Broken focus. I have had to personally take these words to heart. I am a visionary. I am always thinking up new stuff, new ideas, and new projects and seeing the end picture. Forget about how to get there. I see the end, the product of everyone’s labor. Thank God for my wife, who reels me in. Can you relate?
For me, I have had to learn the power of focus. Do you remember as a kid taking a magnifying glass and focusing the power of the sun to burn a hole in a piece of paper? If we are going to succeed in our business or in life in general, we must begin to focus on what we are doing.
But how? Let me give you a few things you can do to help develop the power of focus.
1. You have to know what you want.
What do you want out of your current situation? Where do you want to be? How much do you want to make? What will it look like once you are there? Don’t just read these words but sit down and take some time to answer them. If you don’t you will never be able to leverage the power of focus.
2. You have to know why you want it.
Why do you want to be successful? What is the true motivating factor in what you are doing? If it is out of fear, greed, or the “I’ll show them attitude”, then beware. Failure is right around the corner.
There is a great book that will help you with this: Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker. You need to get your hands on this, read it and take notes.
3. After you have worked these things out then pursue the dream with total abandonment.
You now need to abandon every other option and run like crazy toward the prize. Do something. You need to take action because it will help push you forward and give you a sense of accomplishment.
One of my mentors has a saying, Ready…Fire…Aim. So many times we can get side tracked with all the planning that we just need to do something. So do something today toward seeing your success become a reality.
“I want to thank my friend Maggie for asking me to do this guest post. It is truly an honor for me. Follow Maggie and learn from her experience and expertise. She is a great mentor!” … Joe

Are you a professional journalist? You write very well.
Hi John,
No I am not a professional journalist, neither is Joe butler. What we do when we write, we write as though we have a friend sitting across the table from us. Ifyou do that with all your writings, you cannot go wrong. I thank you so much for the compliment. Please keep on coming back, we have so much more for everyone to learn.
Love and Light and best wishes to you.
